Background on:
EDHE Lekgotla 2018

The second annual EDHE Lekgotla is the national flagship event of the Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE) Programme. This Programme by the Department Higher Education and Training.

The EDHE Lekgotla 2018 is a three-day gathering of leaders in entrepreneurship development in higher education aimed at sharing best practice and fostering collaboration for the benefit of the South African youth and economy. Stakeholders in the EDHE ecosystem gather to share their learning and experiences, while working on identifying and addressing challenges in the space of entrepreneurship development in higher education.

The primary purpose of the annual EDHE Lekgotla is to meet the needs of academics, support professionals and university leadership in terms of trends, latest developments and pockets of excellence in entrepreneurship development. Private sector stakeholders who work in the space of EDHE might also benefit from participating in the lekgotla.

What the EDHE Lekgotla 2018 is not

  • The EDHE Lekgotla 2018 is not an academic conference, but is rather an event aimed at effecting change in entrepreneurship at a practical and functional level.
  • The EDHE Lekgotla 2018 is not focused on addressing the needs of entrepreneurs primarily, but in stead on equipping stakeholders to provide an environment in which student entrepreneurs and their businesses can flourish.
  • The EDHE Lekgotla 2018 is not a marketing event.
