The upcoming EDHE Studentpreneurs Indaba 2022 will focus on building leadership capacity in students with existing start-ups or small businesses. The event, taking place on 22 July, 2022, from 09:00 to 16:00, aims to share knowledge, opportunities and networks to support young entrepreneurs under the theme, Student leadership for the business leaders of tomorrow.

The Studentpreneurs Indaba 2022 follows on the heels of the three-day EDHE Lekgotla 2022, that will have taken place from Tuesday the 19th to Thursday the 21st of July.

Hosted by Nelson Mandela University at the Boardwalk Hotel in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, for in-person attendance, the Studentpreneurs Indaba may also be attended virtually.

The organisers have made provision for students’ accommodation at an affordable rate on a first come-first-serve basis from Thursday the 21st to Friday the 22nd of July.  Limited free accommodation spots are available for two-person pairs sharing rooms. All students who register for the Studentpreneurs Indaba will receive an email from EDHE with an offer of the available accommodation. Students will have an option to accept or decline the offer. Students are also cautioned that Standard Cancellation Terms and Conditions will apply.

This year, the EDHE Studentprenuers Indaba is a collaboration between EDHE and the Higher Education Leadership and Management Programme (HELM), which is another Universities SA programme funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training. HELM, this year, is piloting student leadership training interventions aimed to benefit student entrepreneurs and EDHE-affiliated individuals as they #MoveToMarket, a theme for 2022.

For virtual registered attendees, EDHE Studentpreneurs Indaba 2022 will stream via the Glue Up platform, which enables:

  • Setting up in-person/virtual meetups with other attendees to connect and network;
