The National Association of Student Development Practitioners (NASDEV) will be hosting its Women in Leadership Conference from 24 – 27 August 2022.

In celebrating Women’s Month, the Women in Leadership Conference programmatic offering will allow the delegation to gauge how far we have come in transforming society, particularly the transformation of unequal power relations between women and men, gender oppression, ageism in the academy and gender-based violence. The Conference also seeks to create the space for collaboration and innovation for women in society, the role of women in South Africa’s declining economy and how women can meaningfully compass society’s needs.

In-line with the national theme for Women’s Month in South Africa being “Gender Equality: Realizing Women’s Right for an Equal Future”, the overarching them for the NASDEV Women in Leadership Conference is “Equity vs. Equality: Women Empowerment in Modern Day South Africa”.

In opening the Gala Dinner for the NASDEV Woman in Leadership Conference, the keynote address will be delivered by Her Majesty, Queen Ntokozo Mayisela of the Zulu Royal Household and in closing off the conference, the keynote address is expected to be delivered by Deputy Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Ms. Nocawe Mafu.

The NASDEV Women in Leadership Conference will encompass a delegation of women from across South African public universities, consisting of various Student Affairs executive members, directors, managers, student development practitioners, student leaders and students alike who will form part of this phenomenal programme.
